Kathmandu. Nepal Oil Corporation has said it has kept petroleum prices unchanged in Nepal even though prices from India have gone up. In a statement, the Corporation said it received new purchase prices from Indian Oil Corporation on Asoj 14. Petrol has gone up by Rs 20.44 per litre, diesel by Rs 20.21, kerosene by Rs 15.96 and aviation fuel by Rs 18.66 per litre.

Similarly, the Corporation said the price of cooking gas has been kept unchanged even though it went up by Rs 81.32 per cylinder. Nepal Oil Corporation said keeping current prices unchanged in Nepal despite the increase from India will mean a loss of more than Rs 3.2 billion per fortnight.

The first category includes Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi and Birgunj. The second category includes Surkhet and Dang, and the third includes Kathmandu, Pokhara and Dipayal, among others.

Likewise, the price of domestic aviation fuel has been set at Rs 249 per litre. The price of international aviation fuel at Kathmandu has been set at US$ 1,697 per kilolitre. The Corporation has also kept the price of 14.2 kg LP gas at Rs 2,060 per cylinder.
