Kathmandu. Khem Century’s new song ‘Bahun Baje Kina Kaseko’ has come under controversy over allegations that it demeans a community.
After a complaint was filed against the song, the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has called Century and the complainants for discussions.
According to the bureau’s information officer Dilip Kumar Giri, the discussions continued on Wednesday after Tuesday’s meeting ended without a conclusion. Giri said Hindu activists object to the line in the song ‘khanchhau ki khannau bangurko masu, lau khau na ta sungurko masu’ (will you eat pork or not, go on, eat the pork).
The complainants have demanded that the song be taken down immediately. Hindu activists including Sagar Thapa have demanded its removal, saying some words in the song target the Bahun community. The song is sung by Century and Deepika Bayambu Magar.
